Avoid : Vista Encryption

I was using Windows Vista encruption to encrypt my 25.6GB of Personal Documents however I would advise against using any built-in encryption in Vista as when you go to move your data you will be in for a nasty shock!

If you want to see if you have encryption enabled on your folders then usually they are green in colour....to be sure right click on the folder click Advanced and you will see a ticbox in "Encrypt Data"

If you have "NTFS Advanced Mode" enabled then you will get green folders....

If you are worried about security then this is a good idea, however when you go to transfer your files to another HDD location you will be in for a long wait...

Yes, you read that right....the files transfer at about 48KB/s which is damn well ADSL speeds......so for me to transfer my files to my E: at a size of 25.6GB these are the estimated time I get from Vista...

Rising rather quickly after 5 minutes of "thinking" to.....

No, I do not think that I will sit here for an entire day and wait for a copy....screw that I will remove the "Encrypt" flag and copy over normal files.......
