BSOD Generation......?

WARNING: Only use the application "NotMyFault" on non-production systems as this application will severly affect uptime of the server this application is executed on...once again DO NOT TRY THIS AT WORK

A Blue Screen of Death or a BSOD is what happens when Windows does not know what to do with an instruction it has been given due to an application probably running in Kernel mode not user mode.....if you have stable servers and workstations that hve been secured and updated then you will in-frequently see a BSOD......
If this is the case then you may feel somewhat at a disadvantage as you cannot analyse a crash dump file that you do not have...that is why there is an application called "NotMyFault" that will generate this crash dump file for you.....

All you need to do is select the type of crash you want and then click "Do Bug!" which will result in an immediate BSOD....however many people have run this application and informed me there is no crash dump file in the location %systemroot%system32......well if this is the case ensure you have the following setting enabled for "Crash Recovery" within Windows...

If you have "Small Memory Dump (64K)" selected then you will notice that the path is not %systemroot%system32 but %systemroot%MiniDump
When the crash dump is created you can analyse what caused the issue.....which in the case WILL be NotMyFault.exe if it is not then you have not go the hang of analysing crash dump files....
Ooohhh....by the way, as we are on the BSOD topic here are some pictures of realtime BSOD errors in major instances...

Laugh it up.....not get back to working on your inferior Windows Server ;-)
